In-Presa collaborates on ABB’s project for the largest EV Charge Station in Italy.

Barilla, an Italian company that needs no introduction, has built the largest charging station for electric and plug-in hybrid cars in Italy at the car park of its headquarters in Pedrinano, in the province of Parma.

The charging station, which has 31 columns positioned in the company car park, will be used to recharge the batteries of the 83 hybrid cars (heat engine combined with an electric unit) that make up the new corporate fleet of the multinational.

The declared purpose and fully achieved by the global leader in the production of pasta is to boast an eco-sustainable fleet that helps to respect the environment and at the same time allows to contain management costs in the medium to long term.

The project led by top-level integrators has understandably received important media coverage (Ansa, Repubblica, Italiaoggi and hundreds of sector articles) being one of the most pioneering and important business management projects in all of Europe. The columns, all of the same model, are supplied by ABB which uses In-Presa components as internal management and communication intelligence (Controller and Server Series Max), and are of the alternating current type with two Type 2 sockets each single-phase. A definitely right and well thought-out choice that has allowed the increase in the number of Pdr in spite of any unnecessary greater power – and this is precisely the peculiarity of the company’s charging systems – given the average residence times inside the Parking Corporate.

In-Presa boasts with obvious satisfaction – in this real case study for the electrical Fleet Management sector – the collaboration and support for the integration of the entire system requested by ABB. Not only evident important numbers but above all a real model for companies of the immediate future that will see the spread, with the ever-increasing presence of electric vehicles, not only of the fleet but also of visitors, employees, suppliers etc …
