2ID Charge Evolution project

The project process co-financed by the Regional Operational Program (Por) of the European Regional Development Fund (Fesr) 2014-2020 in the context of Por Creo funding, which saw In-Presa di Generale Sistemi srl as leader, has been completed.

With this milestone it is therefore possible to consider the phase of the “Smart Socket” project, which is at the beginning of GS’s activity towards the recharging systems market, completed.

The project is based on the concept of “adaptive” innovation to allow the inclusion of intelligent socket technology in sectors that are still unexplored, such as electricity supply columns in areas such as ports, campsites.

In the latter sector – again as an example – it was identified as still necessary to review the Hardware structure to be adapted to the joint supply of Electricity and Water or as it is essential to define a wireless communication between devices to adapt products to hostile environments.

It is also important to re-evaluate the safety factor which in these environments is strongly underestimated.

Therefore, design and prototyping activities were carried out such as that of a “Reader body”, in practice a plastic support integrating the two reading technologies, to be adapted on Columns or WallBoxes dedicated to V.E. in Parking areas. The research project concerned the study and implementation of innovations in the charging of electric road vehicles in compliance with current legislation (Standards IEC 61851-1, IEC62196-2, IEC61439-1, IEC60364-7-722) and capable of recharge vehicles in places open to the public in mode 3 according to the IEC61851-1 standard.

It was obviously necessary to concentrate the research activity in harmonization with the technical legislation in force at European level and also refer to the Community Directives on the charging of electric vehicles.
