It is, in fact, the first charging point powered by renewable sources (solar energy), which makes a big leap forward in sustainable mobility not only in Cesenatico, but in the whole province. The project, strongly desired by the Councilor for the Environment Giovannino Fattori, integrates perfectly with the policies of the Department, which is promoting various actions in terms of sustainable mobility, and has resulted in the construction of a shelter powered by photovoltaic panels, at the such as electric vehicles (pedal assisted bicycles, scooters, cars or other types of vehicles), will be able to fill up on clean energy.
The main feature of the project is that the station, located in the Largo San Giacomo car park, right in front of the Casa dell’Acqua, is “public, free and operational 24 hours a day”. Each owner of an electric vehicle will be able to recharge their vehicle for free, using a particular recharge card that will be distributed by the Environment Office, in a completely eco-sustainable way as the use of renewable energy translates into an absolute absence of emissions. of CO2. The structure consists of six charging stations, with eight attachment points and three different types of sockets: two latest generation sockets, such as “Mennekes”, for fast car charging (max 3 hours); two “Schuko” type domestic sockets for bicycles, scooters or cars and two “Scame” type sockets for cars or scooters; up to eight vehicles can therefore be recharged at the same time. The supply of electricity, necessary to recharge the vehicle, takes place exclusively following recognition through the recharge card. For the first year, to give a further boost to the use of “green” vehicles, the charging service will be completely free. In Cesenatico, where electric bicycles are starting to be a rather consistent reality, we also want to propose the change in the direction of electric cars.
Precisely for this reason, the Municipal Administration, starting from 2014, will begin to replace part of the fleet with zero-carbon electric vehicles. The city is already launching towards a change of mentality regarding mobility, but despite this, it continues to incentivize its citizens to use environmentally sustainable means of transport.
