Presented the ambitious Bike and Car Sharing project that sees In-Presa among the technology suppliers
In the province of Pisa we move in an alternative way and everyone gains from it, from citizens to the territory. The initiative involves two Tuscan municipalities, Cascina and Pontedera (overall 75 thousand inhabitants and a very high number of daily commuters who travel on the Tuscan-Romagnolo road axis), which are experimenting with a shared vehicle service to move around the area by electric means sustainable, precisely to reduce the volume of car traffic and the consequent pollution.
On the road… electrically – We are talking about Eco road on, launched in the two towns last June 18th with various public moments. Eco road on is part of the interventions within the POR CReO of the Tuscany Region aimed at the construction of electrical infrastructures with recharging points in the urban areas of the Tosco-Romagnola axis (with particular reference to rest areas and public car parks ) and other sustainable mobility interventions, in collaboration with SIAT and Greengo.
Car-bike-cargo sharing – The project introduces an integrated transport system based on electric mobility while ensuring integration with the electrical infrastructure system already present in the Municipality of Pisa. There are three types of mobility connected to each other:
- Electric car-sharing: an alternative transport system to private vehicles, in full respect of the environment, thanks to the rental of electric vehicles with low environmental impact.
- Pedal-assisted bike-sharing, with new electric bicycles and new stations, to move around the area even on two wheels.
- Electric cargo-sharing, i.e. electric vans, to load and transport comfortably and without polluting.

Eco road on, through the triple system of car-bike-cargo sharing, therefore offers a service suitable for the multiple needs of the citizens of Cascina and Pontedera who, by joining the service, have at their disposal a – shared – fleet of electric vehicles of all kinds. . For the two municipalities, the project involves the purchase of electric vehicles of different types, to meet the needs of all citizens, and the installation of shelters with photovoltaic coverage, parking and self-charging stations for electric vehicles by Enel Distribuzione. , stations that guarantee the supply of vehicles with an interoperable recharge, very useful because recharging can be carried out independently of the sales company with which one is contracted. The project is thus linked to the initiatives that have been active in Tuscany for some time, as shown by the network of recharging infrastructures already present in the Municipalities of Pisa, Livorno, Volterra, Larderello and in other cities of central Italy such as Perugia, Bologna, Forlì, Genoa.
How to join Eco road on – Joining the service, which can be individual or corporate, takes place by registering at the authorized front offices; here the user will receive a subscription card and username and password in order to access the services. For registration, a deposit of 100 euros is required (to be paid in cash or by credit card), which will be returned at any time you want to leave the service.
To access car-sharing and cargo-sharing it will be possible to use an app, which is used to book the car and subsequently to carry out the various operations related to the opening, operation of the vehicle and its return at the end of the service. The app can be accessed via the website www.ecoroadon.it or directly via the qr code. The bike-sharing system, on the other hand, will work with the card received at the time of registration.
Rewards for the most diligent – There is also a bonus system that rewards users who charge the vehicle using the fuel card present in each car; the bonus consists of free minutes of use of the vehicle. The social value of the operation is guaranteed: recharging the vehicle guarantees subsequent users the possibility of finding the loaded car and therefore of using the service.
