Electric Mountain Bike Sharing
The “Forni di Sotto Bike Sharing” service is the system active in the homonymous town in the province of Udine for the free rental of e-bikes designed to allow the enjoyment of the beauties of the area with a naturalistic tourism vocation as a UNESCO heritage site.
The bicycles present are therefore pedal assisted mountain bikes with electric motor, suspension fork and 24-inch rear wheel.
There are three bike storage stations with attached battery charger, located in the villages of Baselia, Tredolo and Vico.
The location is also designed for use by the citizens of the country but above all to be able to take advantage of the cycling routes that the administration intends to propose such as the Vico Drogne, S.Antonio, Chiampì, Vico ring or the Baselie alternative, Sacrovint bridge, Preses, Sacrovint, torr. Poschiadea.
The system also stands out for the particularly accurate design of the stations (shelters) entrusted to an established architectural studio.
These stations also boast an important technological equipment such as a photovoltaic system included in the Conto Energia plan and storage system.
The entire project was funded on the basis of a national competition “National tender for the implementation of bike sharing projects associated with power systems using renewable energy and in particular photovoltaic shelters” (GU Gen. Series N ° 88 of 16/04 / 10) to encourage sustainable mobility funded by the Ministry of the Environment and Land Protection.
