The presentation of the “Bike sharing Isola di Arturo” project will be held tomorrow
Tomorrow, Friday 30 November, at the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Procida, the presentation of the “Bike sharing Isola di Arturo” project, strongly supported by the mayor Vincenzo Capezzuto and co-financed by the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea .
The project represents a first opportunity to promote an innovative transport system at an institutional level, such as that of the pedal assisted bicycle, starting from the need to develop an integrated network of solutions aimed at promoting accessibility and hospitality to the visitor and mobility of residents and tourists, respecting the principles of sustainability with consequent protection of the environment, re-evaluation of the value and characteristics of the territory. Encouraging the use of bicycles and in particular the pedal assisted one as the main means of getting around the island, certainly represents a first step within a larger vision that sees Procida as a sustainable community.
The problems related to mobility are many, but identifying a right strategy that makes the island of Procida a sustainable community is part of a larger project that the Municipality has been carrying out for over a year in collaboration with Formez PA and which will see the light in the coming months with the drafting of an energy planning tool.
