Charge the car using photovoltaic systems: from next year it will be possible to drive around Lake Garda with your own electric vehicle without the fear of a flat battery. The Garda Uno project, which from February will install 31 “columns” from Limone to Peschiera, is to create the first public suburban network of charging stations for electric vehicles. The 18 closest columns are located in Brescia, installed by A2A in the urban area. Garda Uno, on the other hand, wants to create a widespread system, which aims to produce energy from renewable sources. The multi-utility will install the columns near the 52 photovoltaic systems installed by the company in the various municipalities of Garda. The panels produce electricity for schools and town halls, but also for vehicles. “It is true that users are still few – explain from Garda Uno -, but the number of foreign tourists arriving by electric or hybrid vehicles is growing”. Twenty-seven municipalities covered by the service, even if the first towns concerned, in February, are Sirmione, Desenzano, Padenghe, Salò, Toscolano, Gargnano, Tignale, Carpenedolo, Calcinato and Lonato. When all the columns are installed, the Garda can be toured without emissions.
